Living Fences
We want you to be happy and enjoy a privacy screen with natural materials that add beauty and value to your landscape. To this end our goal is to put the right plant in the right place.
We offer a variety of evergreen privacy screens, deciduous privacy screens and living fences. These are evergreen and deciduous trees ranging in size from 3 feet tall to as tall as 12 feet or more. It is great to have a living fence.
In most cases, consideration must be given to the planting area, the amount of sun available and the available space for the proper healthier and growth of the plant. To insure good growth and longer term health, the newly planted evergreen trees require supplemental watering. Depending on the time of year, this fence may need to be watered 2 to 3 times per week. If your yard is equipped with a professionally installed irrigation system we are able to re-configure the drip system or spray heads. This would ensure that each tree has sufficient water. If you do not have an irrigation system then Consolidated Landscape Maintenance can assist and install a low cost drip system for the living hedge. This could be removed after the first year or used on a reduced schedule to see rapid growth the following year. We are also able to in an irrigation system for the entire yard if you so desire.
This is a partial list of recommended plants that make a great living hedge or living fence: Emeral Green Arborvitae, Leyland Cypress, Thuja Plicata, some Cedars, Cryptomeria or Japanese Cedar, Photinia, European Hornbeam, Rose, Bamboo, Mexican Orange, Escallonia, Holly, Yew, English Laurel and Portugal Laurel.
